Paranormal PagesOn a trip to the USA, we (the owners of these pages) met a very interesting man by the name of Sebastian. In the few short weeks we knew him, he used at least 5 different surnames, but always used Sebastian as his Christian name. Sebastian Orland - we'll call him that because "Orland" was the name he was using during our most memorable times - is a psychic/paranormal investigator. We met him in the lobby of the Hotel Pennsylvania on 7th Avenue. It's right opposite Madison Square Garden. I guess he sparked our interest when he told us what he does, and our first encounter with Sebastian lasted quite some time as we accompanied him several blocks down the street to some convention centre where he was supposed to be giving a speech. Sebastian told us that the convention was booked out, so we continued on our way along the piers and later caught a taxi into Chinatown. Strangely enough we could find no references to any paranormal convention taking place at the center. We met Sebastian a few times that week, and we always got along very well. He had some remarkable stories and he told them with such earnestness. I used to call myself a 50% sceptic on everything, but after spending time with Sebastian I'm completely mixed up. For most areas of paranormal/psychic phenomena my scepticism now peaks at no more than 20%. To my mind now, almost anything is possible, but I still view everything with some scepticism.. Our first turning point was when Sebastian convinced us to accompany him to Haiti for a short 3 day visit. Hey we were looking for new experiences, and we found several in Haiti. True to his word though, Sebastian has kept in touch by e-mail. He promised to send us some of his more eventful encounters and he has been keeping his promise. Although Sebastian is writing a book about his travels, he has permitted us to print the tidbits that he e-mails us here. He says that he has no objections, as what he is sending us is only a small fraction of the whole story. In case you were wondering, Sebastian doesn't actually do what he does for the income. Monetarily, you might say he is "self sufficient". He does what he does for the love of it. He is in no rush to finish his book, because he seems to be having too much fun with the research. Besides, as Sebastian puts it "There's really no money in the type of book I'm writing, unless you can come up with a new angle - something different from the 1000's of other books on paranormal phenomena. I'm still trying to find that angle." We hope you will enjoy these e-mails as sent to us by our great friend Sebastian Orland. |

Our Experience with SebastianVoodoo in Haiti25th October 2006We will kick off with our experiences in Haiti. Ordinarily, Voodoo - or Vodun - is not as sinister as some movies and books would have you believe. Voodoo is a religion. It is a mixture of Catholicism and the tribal beliefs of the Haitian people. Haitians worship a God and many spirits or Loa, and for the most part, that's about the sum of it. They have some strange rituals designed to appease the spirits and bring prosperity, but most Haitians have nothing to do with dark magic that is often attributed to Voodoo. Sebastian was however investigating a Voodoo curse which seemed to be having an affect on a young Haitian boy living in Florida. The boy was growing gradually sicker every day. He was no longer able to eat solid food, and reportedly visible burn marks would appear on his body daily - without any identifiable cause. The boy's parents were adamant that the cause was Voodoo and that they knew who was responsible. They were just too afraid to confront the culprit. Now without dwelling on this case too much, I'm happy to report that Sebastian sorted the whole situation out and the boy has made a full recovery. What is of interest though are some of the things I saw in Haiti relating to this case. We attended a real Voodoo service, not one of the touristy ones they hold in Port-au-Prince. This was the real deal and was held in a small village about a 60km dusty drive from the city.
Sebastian's E-mailsPoltergeist - Hendry Florida13th January 2007Hey Baz, Sorry for not writing for a while. I'll try to keep in touch more regular in future. Been pretty busy lately. I won't bore you with too many details, as I know you want "just the interesting stuff mate" as you put it. Besides, I have to keep the main details for my book if I ever get to work on it again. I've been working with an elderly couple, Mr and Mrs P, in Hendry County Florida. This was an unusual case because usually poltergeist activity has something to do with pubescent children, but this couple lived alone and there had been no children living in the house since 1986. The focal point of activity was in this case not a person, but the attic. Not once has any activity been noticed outside the attic. I'll tell you right now, it's not rats or possums. In some respects this is like a haunting, but in many respects it is a poltergeist. Perhaps a classic ghost in the attic has been taken over by a poltergeist? Whatever it is, this is one hell of a mischievous entity. It seems to be able to play mind games. Some of its "tricks" are observable by only certain individuals at a time, whilst other are clearly observable by all present. Have you ever smelled anything that made you vomit? I had three assistants accompany me into the attic one night. After about 3 hours of absolutely nothing, Collette and I noticed a strange odour, mild at first but rapidly gaining in intensity. I'd hate to try to describe it to you, as it would require some pretty disgusting analogies. Rob and Jake smelled nothing. We were frantically checking our equipment and taking recordings when Collette spontaneously projectile vomited over two of the cameras. I was lucky to make it downstairs to the bathroom before I had a similar reaction. From that short encounter we recorded EMF off the scale, atmospheric variations in temperature between 35 and 600, some very interesting - dare I say scary - video, and reversed vocal manifestations that we were able to pinpoint at the room's exact center. I really have to thank Jake and Rob for most of what we got, as they continued to monitor the equipment and take notes whilst Collette and I were out of action. I later found a ouija board in a cupboard in the attic, but both Mr and Mrs P deny having any knowledge of the boards existence. I guess that only complicates the mystery a bit. FOOTNOTE! Alien Abduction? - Mexico6th February 2007Hey Baz, I don't usually get too mixed up in UFO's. It's really not my scene. But I got dragged into this case in mexico involving supposed abductions of an entire family. I was very sceptical about alien abductions until now. I can tell you that whilst helping on this investigation I have awoken to find this entire family missing twice. What's strange is that I don't remember going back to sleep, but in the morning the family were all back in the house and things were just weird. Hard to describe, but it was like everyone knew something had happened but nobody was able to talk about it. I've still never seen a flying saucer, and somehow I just don't believe they even exist. The missing family was due to something else altogether. When the family talk about it, they refer to the "aliens", but I'm not convinced. Something unusual is definitely going on, but in my mind it is nothing to do with aliens - not the typical ones that people imagine when they hear the word anyway. More Voodoo17th April 2007Baz and family, Just a short one - I know you probably saw enough voodoo last year to last a lifetime, but I just had to tell you this. At a ceremony last week I can confirm sustained human levitation. 5 minutes total. I timed it, and at precisely 5 minutes from "lift off" the guy began to descend. Take my word that this entire scenario was checked and double checked - this guy floated in the air unaided for 5 minutes. I'll get back to you soon. Planning a trip to Lake Okanagan to see if I can get a glimpse of Ogopogo soon, but I'm pretty sure Ogopogo is just a myth. Cuiabá - Spontaneous Human Combustion2nd June 2007Hi all, I'm in Brazil, staying at a lovely little retreat called the Araras Lodge. I've been investigating several cases of spontaneous human combustion over the past week. All have taken place in the nearby township during the last 3 months Spontaneous human combustion is where a person bursts into flames without any known cause. There is usually very little damage to anything in the surrounding room This was indeed the case in Cuiabá, although there were several plastic items in the room that had melted. What's very strange is that the heat to melt plastic at a distance of over 4 meters from the combusting body would have to be incredibly intense. So intense that it should easily ignite the surrounding carpet and the curtains which were only a mere 1 meter away. The EMF in all the rooms where the bodies were found was quite high. Substantially higher than normal. So I guess there is something to do with Electro Magnetism in S.H.C. I must say though that I felt a presence in each room - more than just increased EMF. These cases have all been kept quiet at the request of the families and were all recorded as accidental deaths. It makes me wonder just how prevalant S.H.C. really is. How many cases go unreported? I was just lucky that one of my contacts knew the local coroner or I wouldn't have even heard of these cases. Got some great info on this one. Keeping most of it for the archives, but thought you might be interested that I can confirm 100% that people do spontaneously combust under the right circumstances. Tabatinga - Strange Creature5th October 2007Hello Baz and family, Hope you are all keeping well. If I told you I was, I'd be lying. I've had an extremely confusing time of the last 2 months, having set out on an expedition August 3rd to search for a strange creature in the Amazon Jungle. I have only just returned to Cuiabá yesterday and I am none the wiser for the experience. Here are the facts… Within a day or so of my last contact with you I received notice that a creature had been sighted quite often near the town of Tabatinga. The creature somewhat resembled the stereotypical grey alien except that it's skin was patchy, it walked upright with a slight stoop and some reports had small rounded boney spines along the creatures back. There were reports that the creature (or creatures) were responsible for the theft of produce from the markets as well as the death of many livestock. It took me a while to gather a team for the investigation, but eventually we gathered a party of 7 plus myself. As I stated above, we set off on August 3rd, but I only have memory of 2 days of our expedition. It was kind of like we all fell asleep on the 5th August and we all awoke in the morning on 30th September, little more than ½ mile from the Tabatinga township. I can't explain what went on, and neither can any of the team. Nobody was willing to go back for another attempt so that's where we left it for the moment. I'm at a complete loss as to what has happened, and for the moment I am just trying to steady myself and make sure I have returned to reality. I have many photos from this trip. I don't remember taking any, but I have 5 very interesting shots which will require some deep analysis. I will have to find a new team, and hopefully get back onto this one after a few weeks rest. Ciao for now. |

Site Summary: The Coldrick Web Site is available to everyone and the content is family orientated. It is a place to slow down, relax and browse. It isn't a fast paced site. To get the most from the site you need to click a few buttons and read the pages or look at the pictures. There are over 2000 jokes which appear randomly at the bottom of most pages, admittedly many are quite lame. We even believe that the lamest joke in the world may be amongst them - see if you can find it. A few jokes may be slightly risque but we don't believe there are any that would be unsuitable for a young audience. There are over 1700 trivia questions which can be browsed using the random trivia page. You may like to play the trivia quiz when you feel you know enough of the answers. The site also contains some information on UFO's (Unidentified Flying Objects) and some interesting paranormal information including voodoo, spontaneous human combustion and psychic powers. You might like to voice your opinion on the questions in the Polls Page, or check the family tree to see if you may be remotely related to the yobbo's who run the site.
